MULTIVERSO - VERSO
In Multiverso – Verso, the female figures are not isolated appearances: they are presences rooted in the land.
The works are born and take shape within the landscapes of central Sicily, in places where the light is harsh and ancient, and where matter holds a memory that belongs not only to nature, but also to the women who have moved through it.
When I photograph these figures, I feel I am working within a deep continuity, in which the body is not external to the landscape but becomes one of its extensions.
It is as if figure and land shared the same breath, the same vibration.
The women inhabiting these images carry a strength that is never illustrative:
they are grounded, solid, almost sculptural.
Their relationship with the Sicilian land is not that of a backdrop, but of communion; within this encounter, figure and landscape become an inner space, an emotional geography that both sustains and transforms them.
With this series, I sought to develop the idea that landscape is not a frame, but an extension of female identity.
A woman within the landscape of central Sicily is never merely a figure: she is part of an ancient history, a form emerging from millennia of light, labour, resistance and everyday ritual.
The works are produced through analog processes and printed by me as gelatin silver prints, in limited editions.
Hand printing in photographic chemistry restores the material density that I consider essential.
Each work is, for me, a living object that tells of a place and of a bond:
a bond between body and land, between gaze and memory, between Sicily and femininity.
Those who approach these images sense that there is no distance: there is a continuity that welcomes, speaks, and endures.

In Multiverso – Verso, le figure femminili non sono apparizioni isolate: sono presenze radicate nella terra.
Le opere nascono e si definiscono dentro i paesaggi del centro Sicilia, in quei luoghi dove la luce è dura e antica, e dove la materia conserva una memoria che non appartiene soltanto alla natura, ma anche alle donne che l’hanno attraversata.
Quando fotografo queste figure, sento di lavorare su una continuità profonda, in cui il corpo non è esterno al paesaggio ma una sua estensione.
È come se la figura e la terra condividessero lo stesso respiro, la stessa vibrazione.
Le donne che abitano queste immagini portano con sé una forza che non è mai illustrativa:
sono radicate, solide, quasi scultoree.
Il loro rapporto con la terra siciliana non è un fondale, ma una comunione; in questo incontro, figura e paesaggio diventano uno spazio interiore, una geografia emotiva che le sostiene e allo stesso tempo le trasforma.
Con questa serie ho voluto sviluppare l’idea che il paesaggio non sia un contorno, ma un’estensione dell’identità femminile.
Una donna nel paesaggio del centro Sicilia non è mai soltanto una figura: è parte di una storia antichissima, una forma che emerge da millenni di luce, lavoro, resistenza, ritualità quotidiane.
Le opere sono realizzate in analogico e stampate da me in gelatin silver print, in edizione limitata.
La stampa manuale in chimica fotografica restituisce quella densità materica che considero essenziale.
Ogni opera è, per me, un oggetto vivo che racconta un luogo e un legame:
un legame tra corpo e terra, tra sguardo e memoria, tra Sicilia e femminilità.
Chi si avvicina a queste immagini percepisce che non c’è distanza: c’è una continuità che accoglie, che parla, che persiste.
